Your first hand, step by step
This is everything between opening the page and the first card, on a phone, a tablet or a computer.
- Pick a way in from the home screen: Play vs Bots, Play Online, Create Room, the Daily Challenge, or a room code a friend has sent you.
- Choose the mode (Classic, Single Sir, Double Sir or Hidden Rung) and how long the match runs: first to 3, 5, 7 or 10 points, with 5 as the default. Against bots you also pick their level.
- In every mode except Hidden Rung, the hakem sees five cards and names the rung. Take longer than twenty seconds and the game names the suit you hold most of, with high cards breaking a tie.
- If all five of those cards are below a Jack, the hakem can ask for one redeal instead of calling.
- The other eight cards arrive, everyone holds thirteen, and play starts. You get fifteen seconds for each card; after that the game plays the best legal card for you.
There is no download, no sign-up and no age gate before the first hand. Sign in later only if you want your stats, streaks and friends to follow you between devices.
Bots from Easy to Expert
Bots are the quickest way to a full table at any hour. Easy bots often play a random legal card, which makes them good to learn against. Medium bots follow suit, use the trump sensibly and support their partner. Hard bots track the cards that have gone, read which suits a player is void in, and plan around the mode being played. Expert bots play out many possible deals of the unseen cards before choosing each card. Hard is the default. Expert is near-optimal, so expect to lose often.
Quick match with whoever is online
Play Online puts you into a match with other players who are online at the same moment, with no room to set up. If somebody leaves, the game does not end for everyone else: a reload or a brief drop gets your own seat back, and if a player stays away longer a bot takes over their seat so the other three can finish the match.
A private room for your own four
Create a room, choose the mode, and share the room code or the invite link on WhatsApp or anywhere else. Friends who tap the link land in your room without installing an app or making an account, and bots fill any seat nobody takes. Room sizes, bot seats and watching as a spectator are covered on the multiplayer page.

Classic Court Piece
The standard game, and the one to pick if you just want a hand. The hakem sees five cards and names the trump suit from those alone; the rest of the hand is dealt afterwards, thirteen cards each. You must follow the suit that was led if you hold it. If you cannot, any card is legal: trump it, or throw away something useless, because trumping is never compulsory. The highest trump wins the trick, or the highest card of the led suit if nobody trumped. Seven of the thirteen tricks wins the hand, and taking all thirteen is a Court. Our match points: the calling side gets 1 for a won hand and 3 for a Court, the defending side 3 for beating the call and 4 for sweeping it.
Single Sir
Tricks count one by one, as in Classic, with one extra rule: take the first seven tricks in an unbroken run and the hand ends there as a Court. Let the other side take a single trick along the way and the run is broken, and the hand simply plays on. It is the clearest mode to learn on.
Double Sir
Tricks stop settling one at a time. They stack into an unclaimed pile, and the pile only comes across when the same player wins two tricks in a row. A partner winning in between resets it. Winning the first two tricks of the hand does not collect it; from the third trick on, two in a row does. An Ace rule is chosen at setup, Trump Ace or Any Ace, and under it a trick won by that Ace cannot claim the pile.
Hidden Rung
Nobody calls the trump. The hand starts with no trump at all, and the first off-suit card played (by a player who cannot follow the led suit) sets the rung for the rest of the hand, including the trick it lands in. Tricks then stack into a pile as in Double Sir, and the same Trump Ace or Any Ace rule is chosen at setup. Nobody holds the caller's advantage, so seven tricks ends the hand on the spot.
No revokes, no arguments
At a real table, holding a card of the led suit and playing something else is the offence that quietly decides hands. When you play Court Piece online here it cannot happen: the game only lets you play cards that are legal, so every hand is played to the rules without anyone having to keep watch.
A daily challenge, too
Besides open play there are three daily challenges every day, one each for Classic, Sir and Hidden Rung. Everybody gets the same seeded hand and one attempt at it, your score is the tricks your side takes, and the board stays sealed until the next day.
