Single Sir is the Court Piece mode where the opening run decides the most: if one side takes the first seven sirs (tricks) before the other side wins a single one, the hand stops right there as a kot, a Court. Otherwise every trick counts on its own, as in Classic, and seven of the thirteen wins an ordinary hand.

Seven in a row, played out
Your side calls spades. You take the first sir, your partner the second, you the third, and the run goes on until your side has seven and the other side has none. The hand ends there as a Court, worth 3 match points to the calling side in our app, or 4 if it was the defending side that ran off the first seven.
Now replay it with one change: the opponents take the fifth sir. The run is broken, nothing special happens at seven, and the hand goes on as an ordinary one. The first side to seven sirs wins it, for 1 point if they called the trump or 3 if they defended.
Single Sir against Classic
In Classic a side that takes the first seven straight plays on, because there only all thirteen counts as a Court. In Single Sir the seventh straight sir is enough. Nothing piles up in either mode: each trick goes to the side that won it the moment it is won, which is the real difference from Double Sir.
Which kot your table plays
Pagat.com, the card games reference, counts winning the first seven tricks of a deal as a court in ordinary Court Piece. Tables in urban Sindh, Karachi especially, keep the word for all thirteen. Our Classic follows the Karachi reading; Single Sir is the mode for players from the first kind of table.
Playing it well
Because an unbroken run ends the hand, Single Sir punishes waste. High trumps spent on tricks you were going to win anyway leave you defenceless later. Defending, the cheapest move in the game is a single early trick: take one, and the Court is gone. Watch which suits your partner is short in, because a partner who cannot follow suit is the one who can take a trick you would otherwise lose.

If you are new to Court Piece, start here. Nothing carries over and nothing accumulates, so the link between the card you play and the trick you win stays obvious. Play a few hands against bots, then take it to a private room with friends.
